The Ghost Of McCarthy Wants Tucker Dead

Tucker doesn’t really love Russia. What he actually loves is attention, money, and more attention. He would say he loves any repugnant, putrid vitriol so long as it garners his fragile ego more views. In that respect there’s little different between him and Der tRumper, other than the fact he can use words with more than two syllables and string together a coherent sentence.

But let’s take a step back here. Way back. Back to the 1950’s.

In 1950, Congress passed the Internal Security Act. In many respects, it was merely a version of the Communist Control Act passed four years later. It used the same language to condemn communism and the Communist Party of the United States, and established penalties for anyone belonging to a group calling for the violent overthrow of the American government. However, it very specifically noted that mere membership in the Communist Party, or affiliated organizations, was not in and of itself sufficient cause for arrest or penalty. The 1954 act went one step further by removing the “rights, privileges, and immunities attendant upon legal bodies created under the jurisdiction of the laws of the United States” from the Communist Party.

If we (choose) to remember the past, we can see a remarkable swing. Joseph Raymond McCarthy, was a US Senator from 1947 until 1957. Most notably a Republican senator. And he hated commies. He initiated the persecution of communists and homosexuals (the irony being that there were substantiated rumors that McCarthy himself was gay).

On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.”

Mother Jones

Why, you might ask? Well because of Tuck’s fantastic way with words. Like these.

Fabulous Pro-Commie Quote #1: “NATO exists primarily to torment Vladimir Putin” – Tucker

Ravishing Red Rhetoric Quote #2: “Why is it disloyal to side with Russia but loyal to side with Ukraine? They’re both foreign countries that don’t care anything about the United States. Kind of strange.”  – Tucker

Commie-kissing Confabulation Quote #3: “I just want to go on the record and say I could care less if they call me a pawn of Putin” – Tucker

Of course, the Russian press reached for their fainting couch and fanned itself into a state of near delight over the Tuck: “It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally…”

To be clear, no sane person is a fan of McCarthy, nor is the adage “two wrongs making a right” applicable here. But it’s post-worthy to note that a scion of the Republican Party voluntarily getting a black eye from Putin’s balls.

You do you Tuck. It sure is fun to watch.
